Hoe Valley School are delighted that our interim campus is based in Woking Park with its surrounding green spaces, sports facilities and its close proximity to Woking Centre and our partner agencies such as Woking Library and the Light Box Gallery. Furthermore it allows the majority of our students to walk or cycle to school.
The temporary school site comprises of a pair of two-storey purpose built mobile classrooms in addition to a two-storey admin block, all within an enclosed area which includes playground space.
The teaching blocks have been configured for our needs and house eight classrooms organized by subject specialisms. Classrooms are light, large and each one includes a state of the art interactive whiteboard screens and sufficient laptops / tablets for every student. They have been furnished and equipped flexibly to support our personalised teaching ethos, and provide a modern learning environment for our students.
Subject to planning permission, we will be extending our facilities at Woking Park for academic year 2017/18 to enable us to continue to provide high quality education to three year groups at the site. The enhancements will include extra classrooms, plus specialist facilities for Science and Design Technology, and additional social, breakout and administrative space. Our new facilities are tailored to meet the needs of the year 9 curriculum. Further details of the plans will be provided in the near future.
The school also makes use of the leisure and recreation facilities located within Woking Park, along with use of the rooms at Woking Football Club. This is ideal in supporting our aim of offering an extensive sporting and arts based enrichment programme alongside a rigorous and academically challenging curriculum.
Our students have access to the excellent sports facilities available at the Leisure Centre, and all of our sports lessons are held there, together with dance, drama, assemblies and our breakfast club. At lunchtime the whole School body goes to Woking Football Club to enjoy a two course cooked lunch freshly prepared by our Temblay’s chef and served in the hospitality suite.
