Mrs Davies joins Hoe Valley School from The Beacon School in Banstead, where she has been Assistant Principal since 2012. At The Beacon School, Mrs Davies has been Head of Progress and Attainment for Key Stage Four and latterly Director of Sixth Form driving up standards in both GCSE and A Level results across the school.
Before joining The Beacon School, Mrs Davies worked at Coombe Girls’ School and Sixth Form in New Malden for eight years. As Head of the MFL Specialism for four years and Head of Year for the four years previous to this, Mrs Davies has a vast experience of working with local Primary Schools in the Kingston Borough, overseeing the transition of Year 6 students into Year 7 as well as leading a Modern Foreign Languages programme for all Primary Feeder Schools.
Previous to working in Education, Mrs Davies worked in London for a global oil and metals company as both a deals administrator and charterer of vessels focussing mainly on investment into Hungarian and Romanian initiatives in Eastern Europe.
In 2013 Mrs Davies obtained a Masters in Education from Kingston University, focussing on closing the gender gap at Key Stage Four. Her PGCE was obtained from Manchester Metropolitan University with German as a subject specialism. She graduated with a Joint B.A. (Hons) degree in German and French from the University College of North Wales, Bangor having studied abroad for one year in Mons, Belgium at an International Interpreting School and at Leipzig University in Germany.
Mrs Davies will start in May but will be joining Ms Alford for recruitment of the Faculty Head before this. Mrs Davies will also be at our Year Six Information Evening on March 11th.
