Our year seven students transformed the School into a pop-up museum bringing London to Woking. The students had visited the Lightbox earlier in the term for inspiration and their education team joined us to award house points to the most powerful installations.
Visitors walked around around multi-sensory displays which incorporated street theatre, sculptures, poetry and artwork all thematically linked into the Sights and Sounds of the River Thames, Crime and Punishment, Chaos and Disease or Underground London. My personal favourites included the Victorian Court Room, the scaled drawings of the Gherkin and of course the severed hand.
The students worked collaboratively on their first of a series of ‘real life projects’ – they worked to a deadline and delivered to a real audience.
