As part of our work with the School’s overseas’s charity the Gurkha Welfare Trust we met with Ed Mills from Vigilance Properties yesterday, who will be flying off to Nepal tomorrow to visit the newly built School in Chiuribote. Our year 8 students made a video last week ‘A day in the life of a Hoe Valley student’ and Ed will take this to show the Headteacher and students out there as they are in a similar position to use with a new build.
Our students wrote letters last year to the students in Nepal and the plan is for Ed to bring back their replies. This is a very exciting partnership as our students learn about a completely different way of life and are able to ask insightful questions to students of their own age. Having an international pen pal is only the start, as one day we would like to take a group of students to visit in Chiuribote in Nepal giving HVS a life changing experience!”
