Tuesday the 26th of September was European Day of Languages. This day is an opportunity to celebrate different languages and cultures and their importance within our society.
HVS celebrated this day with a series of activities.
The students took part in a scavenger hunt where each teacher was issued a badge in the morning with the word hello in a specific language. The students worked in groups to go around and find the different languages and how hello is said in that language. Prizes and house points were awarded for the winning group! Afternoon tutor time involved a quiz.
Staff also participated and were given a points card to collect as many points as possible by speaking in another language to a student. Each time they achieved this the student then signed their card. A prize awaited the member of staff with the most points!
