Macbeth – 3.11.2017

Posted on 06/11/2017 by Tracy Wright

On Friday 3rd November our Year 9 Drama students and some of our year 8 English & Drama students travelled to Walton Theatre to watch a production of Macbeth.

Our student journalist, Mysha, reported as follows:

The Macbeth play was spectacular.  The second part of the play was full of action and suspense.  The cast’s acting was amazing.  The director changed the clothing they wore to more modern clothing, like vests, jeans and hoodies.  Furthermore, there was more up to date technology like walkie-talkies and CCTV cameras.  The director also set the play in the future, more of a dysopian future rather than our modern day.  The genders of characters were also changed so Banquo was female and Fleance was her daughter.

The setting was filled with wooden boxes and fake green vines, there were tyres and ropes and a random car seat emphasising the futuristic setting.

Overall the play was great, and the concept of it being set in the future was  brilliant idea.
