  • COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

    The Communications Administrator plays a vital role in promoting the School's vision, values, and achievements through effective communication and engagement. This position is responsible for internal communications to students, staff and parents via social media posts, internal digital content and our bi-weekly newsletter as well as supporting school office administration.

    The successful candidate will be confident in the creation and posting of social media content, and a willingness to learn the administration of the School website and internal digital boards. They will be creative, possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and be able to work quickly and efficiently to tight deadlines.

    The position is term time, requiring 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The specific working pattern will be discussed.

     

    Salary:

    £12,750 actual (£29,810 FTE)

  • PREMISES ASSISTANT

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and reliable candidate to join our Premises team. Tasked with ensuring the School building and its facilities are maintained to the highest standard, you will ensure that the environment is safe, secure and operational for students, staff, community users and visitors - at all times.

    As Premises Assistant, you will be a hands-on, can-do person with a calm sense of efficiency and organisation, together with the ability to solve problems. In ensuring the School is a clean, attractive and secure place to be, you will prioritise the educational, safety and welfare needs of our students. You will share the School's vision and the belief that all young people can achieve at high levels and recognise the critical role that the fabric of the School plays in facilitating this.

    You will ideally have experience of premises or facilities work, be aware of maintenance programmes and H&S compliance, and always carry out your work to a consistently high standard. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to move furniture and equipment as well as doing external grounds work.

    A full driving licence and a willingness to drive minibuses and complete basic vehicle checks would be advantageous.

    The role is full-time, although part-time working would be considered, 52 weeks a year. The working week is 40 hours, excluding a 30-minute lunch break. There will be a requirement to work occasional evenings to set up / clear up school events. The school would welcome applications from candidates that live within a short distance of the school.

     

    Salary:

    £25,000 - £28,000 per annum

    Full time 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

    Part time working would be considered

    The successful applicant will be experienced and confident teaching in Key Stages 3 and 4 as well as A Level Maths, and possibly A Level Further Maths. The foundation of all our teaching at Hoe Valley School lies in the quality development of students' long-term memories, to make them more intelligent and improve the quality of their whole life. Within the Maths department we use self testing, prior knowledge checks, regular modelling and a cyclical approach to topics to help build this, and resilience, within our students.

     

    Salary:

    £50,000 - £56,000 per annum
