Transforming Education: Hoe Valley Sixth Form's New Extension Now Open

Hoe Valley School and Sixth Form opened the doors of the brand new 3-floor Sixth Form Extension to students, teachers, governors and founders, and the Mayor of Woking on the 24th February 2025.

The purpose-built extension contains a brand new social space with indoor and outdoor seating, a Sixth Form exclusive café which has been named ‘The Hub’ by the students, 7 brand-new seminar rooms, plus a quiet and silent study space. The extension also sees the introduction of The Sixth Form Library, a collection of books donated to the school to create an ever-expanding knowledge base for students to refer to whilst studying.

The launch event saw our Head Girl, Eva Henderson, officially open the space with a ribbon cutting, followed by breakfast pastries and an elderflower fizzy drink toast. Mrs Jane Davies, Head Teacher, and Mr Will Inglis, Head of Sixth Form, took to the stage to share heartfelt thanks and warm wishes to the staff, students and everyone who has been involved in the creation of this new building. Finally, the Mayor of Woking, Cllr. Louise Morales reminisced on the conception of the school and how she has followed Hoe Valley School’s journey through temporary portacabins to the fantastic building it is today.

"These new facilities will enable us to welcome even more students into our Sixth Form community. The reading room and seminar rooms will enhance A-Level teaching and learning, while the creation of The Hub café is part of our commitment to creating the best possible student experience." says Head of Sixth Form, Mr Will Inglis.

Hoe Valley Sixth Form is all about student experience, with impressive facilities, expert staff and exceptional levels of bespoke student support.
Our inclusive and welcoming community celebrates the individuality of all students, and we recognise every student’s potential to ensure they feel valued and supported whilst studying with us.

With a strong Enrichment programme including event and trip planning, sports clubs, and the EPQ, students can enjoy time out of the classroom socialising with their fellow students and staff. Through the enrichment programme, students are encouraged to give back to the community, arranging fundraising events for charities both local and nationwide. Our recent Christmas Charity event organised by the Year 12 and 13 students raised £223 for York Road Project, a Woking-based charity aiming to fight homelessness.
